Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma
Overview of course
The Sapphire Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is based on the globally recognized Ohio standard for Yellow Belt. It consists of 20 on-line Lessons (with an accompanying on-line test) where candidates learn the theory behind the core lean six sigma tools. A small project also needs to be completed where candidates demonstrate application of these tools. It takes 20 – 30 learning hours to complete the full programme and candidates typically do this over a 3-4 month period. Candidates are guided through the programme by a course tutor who is a Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt.

Course content
There are specific guidelines for the project element of the course which the course tutor will discuss with the candidate. Below is an outline of the Lesson contents which are based around the DMAIC model;
Assessment
For successful completion of the Yellow Belt, candidates must successfully complete the test for the knowledge section on-line (60% honours mark required) and the course tutor must sign off on the course project in accordance with specific guidelines. Questions are taken from a large bank of questions and up to 5 retakes are allowed on the test.
The knowledge element of the programme typically involves 30 learning hours and candidates have 9 months from the registration date to successfully complete this.
